How did you photo read 10 books on marketing in 35mins. If I understand mindmapping correctly its a lot like using a "brainstorming" type diagram, where you have the main point in the center illustrated as a "circle" then you have legs & adjoining circles branching out from that main circle to use as sub points. Is that correct? is that what mindmapping is?
If so then here is the problem I am having with using it on any particular book. The problem is:I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR IN A PARTICULAR BOOK OR PUBLICATION IN ORDER TO MINDMAP... fOR example, there is a book that I'm required to get for my first class in school called "the little brown compact handbook". Its basically a book to help you write better and format your writting or something like that. I've photoread this book about 5times already from cover to cover then went back to read the chapter the teacher told us to read and to this day I still dont know wht the heck i've read. How can I mindmap something that just isn't registering in my brain unconscience or other wise. I can't pull out trigger words because 1. don't know what the trigger words are within the text. 2. I'm supperreading or skittering so fast my eyes cant recognize trigger words useful to me that I might need. I'm also trying to read fast enough as to not to try and sound out words (subvocalize) as I read too, or trying to vocalize something else other than the words on the page that i'm reading. Even this is a bit difficult.
Don't get me wrong I've been practicing this stuff and I will continue to practice (I was actually practicing this for the most part of the afternoon and evening on saturday) but for me it really hasn't gotten me very far. I'm hoping something gives soon.
I want to make this work, but so far i've come to the conclusion that most of you guys that are blazing through books via photread, have either already read pretty fast to begin with and photoreading accellerated that, or you probably didn't have all the mental clutter in your head (as ive always had) to begin with so your able to take in the course and teaching far better than I and much faster.
Well thats my opinion and concern... Your thoughts please!!
I will keep doing this till I"m old and grey wether I figure it out or not..
