I've just finished tape 5 of the photoreading course. I still don't understand on how I am meant to activate a book.

Did you do the pre test trials on CD 2? They were part of the training for activation. Also CD 4 taught activation. It's important to do all the exercises in the course if you skip over them you won't 'get' the activation step.

What was your purpose and give an example of your mind probing questions.

For book 1, the photoreading whole mind system:

Purpose: To learn the steps of the photoreading whole mind system, and be able to integrate and develop these skills into my life.

I guess I don't really understand the mind probing part of this step. So how does it work. So I can ask myself as many questions as I like about the book, even if I already know the answers to the question. Say if I asked, what are the steps involved in step 3: photoreading. Well I already know the answer to be, preparing, entering accelerative learning state, stating purpose, affirmations, photofocus, close. See that question would be pointless, as I already know the answer to that.

And also, by asking questions,does that mean that the only knowledge I gain about the book, will be the answers to the questions. Or, does it restimulate the connection between the conscious and other than conscious mind.

How would I know or what would I expect when I mind probe. How do I get an answer, to my question?

Mind probing. If you happen to ask what's involved in step three you're implying you already know step three. Kind of redundant for activation to stick to questions what you know ... Perhaps you need to work more on the Chapter of Activate?

It's a quirk of the mind. If you don't ask questions you don't get answers and if you don't get answers you don't learn anything new. The smart Alec in the class always asked "will this be on the test" The rest just laugh. The question behind the question... do I really need to know this? How important is it? Since passing the test is probably important there is also the question of - what's in it for me? How does it serve my purpose of passing this test?

The questions you ask are to discover what you don't know.

The best way to form questions is from the trigger words.

Now for the million $ tip... look at the questions you are asking me and then check with Paul (ask him and search the PhotoReading book for answers).

The topic of activation is covered in the PhotoReading book. It actually answers all your questions about the mechanics. All you need to do is remember the question as you superread and dip or skitter, and when you find the answer forget it and ask the next question.

Have a conversation with the author.

You can survive without PhotoReading and your purpose isn't a purpose it's a statement that doesn't even sell.

Why really do you want to learn PhotoReading?

I can see why you say my purpose is weak. Though, as this was the book, that I did not intend on photoreading, it's quite difficult to think of a purpose. I guess, you could say my purpose in photoreading this book, would be: to actually experience photoreading, and be able to activate a book.
