When you got the course you had a purpose. What did you hope to achieve with the course? Why was it important to you? Therein lies your purpose.
Textbook - no, not for learning to PhotoRead. And it won't work until you know why you want to PhotoRead. If you haven't got your purpose for wanting to learn PhotoReading you've got nothing to transfer to textbooks.
