Should you be in an alpha state when activating a book that you have photoread?

Just the ideal state, tangerine technique and purpose.

You have enough to do just to do the activation without monitoring whether you're triggering alpha brainwaves. If you just follow the steps of the system the brainwaves will take care of themselves.

It is not hard to get into the ideal state. The trick is to stay there while activating. I can't avoid the thoughts that pop in my mind.

Thoughts that pop into your mind. Depends on their message. I check them and if they help cool if not dump them. Like superreading and dipping. Just move on.

Hi AndriDem!

It is more like a dog, you attend to whatever crosses your nose. <smiles>

I have 5 dogs.

Anyway, it is all conditioning. Take a good mantra, like 'I AM wealthy, healthy and free'. 'I AM focused joy and peace'.

Not many, kept simple; however write them out a hundred times and repeat out-loud hundreds more (even keep tick marks on a piece of paper to keep track of your counts). You need at least one but two or three is best.

This is 'conditioning'. Keep it light, make a game of it and just keep at it. Ignore failure and distractions.

Thought or thinking is not controlled, only your 'attention' can be.

So once conditioned, you simply 'switch to one of the mantras' as your sub-vocalization choice and do whatever exercise or PhotoReading you are doing.

Even replaying a scene from a beautiful 'day-dream' can be useful.

Thanks Yukala for your answer!

So you mean i have to say a good mantra if something will bother me? And it will keep me focused?

You are welcome!

A good mantra that you are already 'conditioned to', otherwise you run the risk of a mental 'tug of crap'.

The mantra need become a 'common thought and feeling within you'. This is accomplished by the conditioning process mentioned above.

This will take at least 10 days or so for each new one.

I have been doing this consciously with 'records' of same for 35 years. I have boxes full of notebooks (with those tick-marks) and helped many people with no prior experience. It works, it is a low tech method no doubt, but in use over 10,000 years I am sure.

Mantra's do not directly 'cure' anything. So you do not actually use them against thoughts or things that bother you. It is simply a 'conditioning' much as we do with dogs.

A smell crosses a dog's nose much as thoughts 'come to us or stir within'. You 'condition' the dog to attend or ignore a smell with a more persistently applied smell. Such as a fresh hotdog or cheese. The mantra is the cheese.

We're talking about activating right? Ask your questions and look for answers. Set a timer. The biggest reason we lose focus is because we don't have a time frame. When the timer goes off we have a reminder we were doing something. If you habitually have the timer going off and not finished what you are doing you'll start staying more focused.

When something come to your mind while activating check if it is relevant to your question if no ask your question again and get back into superreading.

Actually I was only answering the second question, of 'how do you dump thoughts'.

For activating, I really like the advice; 'to activate you get active'.
