Works cited? Maybe your teacher meant for the sources you used to define the words.
Anyway, add the words to your mind map, make them a different color, then when you're done with the reading, go back to the mind map(s) and you won't have to search around for them. They'll just pop out and you'll be able to define them rather quickly.
The review part might actually aid your activation. Those questions could get the brain working and when you're discussing your answer, you might see a word that triggers off another thought.
