How many chapters in the book? Since most books have 10 to 15 pages. And most non-fiction books have about 15 to 20 chapters. That would be close 2 chapters for 30 pages. If the book has 15 chapters I'd go with the 2 chapter approach.

If you're going to go with 30 pages I suggest a cut off point at one of the subheads. Work with the subheadings of the book rather than the chapter names. So when summarising, list the subheading that were on the 30 pages.

Words that you don't know the meaning of and citing. It sounds like you're creating a glossary. That means you need to add the source of the meaning you chose to go with. You can look up the words on Dictionary.com you'll often find they cite a number of sources. Which one agrees best is probably the one you would list and you have to also include the source if you choose to go with their meaning. Look up the term glossary. Might take a bit of a search to see the layout for it. Ask a librarian they will point you in the right direction. \:\)
