Does your gut tell you when to start mind map after 1 or more super read passes of the material?

Once Mind Map started, I assume one goes back and forth between super read/dipping and Mind Mapping. I realize at some point, I may even transition to Rapid Reading.

this is how i do it,

step1:
lets say for instance that i am activating the chapter on concepts of money, then with my pupose etablished i would super read and dip/ skitter for 6 min.
second step
i would establish a new purpose saying that , this time i will be creating a mind map and hence ask my inner mind to guide me to specific details and facts which are key words to capture the whole chapter on the mindmap, i would spend about 10 seconds on each page , this time it becomes easier to spot key points quickly as i'll have super read it before, then after the 10 seconds on the first page i would write all the key bits on the mind map, and continue the same with all the pages.

now i use the second step only when i am reading important information and its important that i have as much of understanding as possible, such as study material , if its for pleasure 1st step should be just fine.

You may mind map as you go or anytime you want to write a core idea. Some find it better to do mind mapping at the end which means you might need to glance back over the text to remind yourself of your finds. Sometimes it's easier to do one activation and then follow that with mind mapping with each activation.

The thing to remember if you're getting bogged down and writing too many words on your mind map; drop the pen. And get back to your questions. I drop the pen anyway even if I mind map as I go. It keeps me focused on getting down core ideas rather than copying the text.
