I know Master Lin said to keep the fingers open, but from the DVD, it looks like the fingers close in when above the head for three seconds and then down to a "prayer" position before reaching the lower dantien. Is this correct? thanks

This is a good question: that is the way I see it also and the way I do it. I will be interested to see how Shawn answers this.

Personally, I've don't "close" my hands, fingers are loosely close to each other.

They should be relaxed and not "closed" like a karate chop.

Just my 2 cents.

I've seen this exercise in other Qi Gong material. Yes, the hands are closed. I believe he is talking about keeping the fingers open during the Beginning Of The Universe, Yin and Yang, etc.

I close my hands because it appeared as if he was closing his on the video. I interpreted that to mean that since the fingers are closed, the energy channels close and so all the energy goes into the crown chakra during those few seconds.
