In most cases you can dump the preview after having looked at the book in the book shop or library. In the case of a textbook that was assigned you probably already did the preview when you opened it up and groaned at the pages.
Concentrate on your purpose and get into your ideal state and PhotoRead the book as soon as possible.
Postview is like a preview where you aim to look at the structure and layout, notice the order the information is arranged (table of content) topic words that are important (index). Pull your own trigger words and form questions you'd like to have answered.
From then on you concentrate on activation.
