the only reason its not recommended to experiment the system at the begining with school stuff is because, while you're learning, with the school books your mind is trying to protect you, and since photoreading is a new approach , your mind will not be free and flexible to the changes as its not sure whether if its going to work or not since its the first time you're doing it.
where as if you were to use it for pleasure since its not important whether you comprehend it or not, your mind will be flexible and less defensive, and once it realizes that with the pleasure reading you derived so much more, it'll be open to experiment with more complicated and more important study material, such as school work.
i for one since i started photo reading at the first month of my academic year i used pring on the school material at the first trail it self, and i had pleasing results.
