Aloha,
I read all the levels (essential to level 3) and my initial reading was 114-116 (SE1)for my doorway and today I re-read the instructions and see that I'm to be under the frame. So I did and the reading is totally different. I got 88 (E2) and then I moved inside with the frame in front of my toes and I got 102. And I measured 3 feet away from the frame and got the original 114. 4,5,6 feet away and I still get 113-114. I even switched off my fridge off (which is 1 foot away from my door). I live in a condo and the lights in the hallway are always on (flourescent ones)does this make a difference?
Of course I rather the reading be the SE1 so the disaster star is not at my entrance... wishiful thinking??? Please help!
(fyi- if se1 is correct -abundance and power are in our room and other the kids room is also an abundance . east falls in the bathroom and this is illness--- we've all been healthy the last 3 years we've been here...)

Take the reading 3 steps outside and 3 steps inside and see if they are both SE1. You've probably got metal in your doorframe.

Wow, you are dead on about the frame- it is metal!!! 3 steps in was 113 and 3 steps out was 112.5 - 114. I'll try again in the AM and report and see if Shawn has anything to add.

Update: Same results of 113-114 for steps outside and inside. So it's safe to go SE1. Well, time will tell too (if things get better and such)

SE1 it is. If you want to be absolutely sure, then I believe you can use your call in option to get a hexagram to lock it into that degree. In my experience, however, this will not be necessary.

Shawn says: "Thumbs up on the SE1." taking a measurement on the threshold and then going inside, turning around a couple times, then checking 2' inside, going inside the house again and turning, then checking 2' outside the door, tends to be a good double-check of the degree.

UPDATE!
Aloha tyaloha,
In Marie's advanced class, she stated to use the reading while standing on the door frame (threshold), whether you know it's being messed with by the frame or not.
She is no longer recommending the check 2' in front of and behind the door for what is the actual facing direction. If the area of the door is being affected by something to shift the reading, it's shifting the energy entering the door as well.
