Apparently Paul Scheele the creator of photoreading thought being in a relaxed state was important for photoreading. It might be he may have found some data that would suggest that a relaxed state is better for learning and when you think about it it makes sense. Someone who is tense, uptight or worrying or fearful could be a major distraction and interfere with the learning process. Whereas someone in a relaxed state can give their full attention to the learning process without distractions.
