But, I do not remember reading any sales hype that taunted any claims to spontaneous activation?
You're RIGHT! In legal-speak, it was an IMPLIED CONTRACT! That means that when something is obviously so, it must be SPECIFICALLY disclaimed if not so. THAT is why program licenses say that "No claim of merchantability is to be implied". That means that a word processor IS, BY IT'S SALE stating that it can process words, but they DISCLAIM that! They do that because there may be bugs, and they want to make that clear.
Likewise, a reading course implies that you have a decent hope of REMEMBERING what is read. PR, at least in the course, speaks of activation, and that states that you do NOT have a decent hope of remembering, without an extra step.
What are you expecting? To spit off details, like names, places, facts, numbers etc?
Don't the ads strongly imply that?
I would say, photoread some books on memory mnemonics.
MAN, would THAT be silly! Photoread a book on mnemonics to learn the other stuff. So how do you learn the mnemonics?
Additionally those who are good at such things do not, by their admittance hardly remember a detail from the previous days performance. There are some very compelling restrictions to the healthy use of the fore-conscious memory.
I would be happy if it could achieve what I have before through other means. If I was NO better than the best of those times, I would be ECSTATIC!
