Obviously, everyone who bought the PR course were hoping to spontaneusly activate based on the claims of PR. I for one felt mislead by the claims of PR : However, i hope to hear some proven ideas to learn how to spontaneusly activate.

This is my one of my favorite topics to be sure.

But, I do not remember reading any sales hype that taunted any claims to spontaneous activation?

There is a bit of it in the course, but I got the feeling more like it was first a theory that 'others' made good on and reported back to Paul.

Anyway, my experience with it is similar to my practice of mysticism, where you just keenly 'know' a thing as you require to know it.

Usually this spontaneous knowing is predicated with or by a 'demand' for said knowing. Otherwise you remain quiet and still thinking what you will.

This is not so mechanical, but subtle like a spider web. However, I have always had this skill from early childhood and for other personal reasons, some harsh I sought to develop it (think survival).

But, since taking up photoreading, this process has amplified many fold. Very nice to pick up new software and programming languages etc. Very handy for speeding up familiarity to new skills and demands thereof.

What are you expecting? To spit off details, like names, places, facts, numbers etc?

I would say, photoread some books on memory mnemonics.

Remember though, the fore-conscious mind need be calm and clear most of time not cluttered with the information of the last 100,000 pages of material you could very easily photoread.

Additionally those who are good at such things do not, by their admittance hardly remember a detail from the previous days performance. There are some very compelling restrictions to the healthy use of the fore-conscious memory.

If you want to improve your chances of experiencing spontaneous activation learn the system and then PhotoReading 5 to 10 books a day for 2 to 3 months.

To see how you go, get someone to give you a book that they have read. PhotoRead that book and get that person to ask you questions. True or false, multiple choice questions.

All the people who have experienced spontaneous activation did two things. They learned the system and applied it as taught. Then they just accepted their experiences with an open mind.

Spontaneous activation happens as the name suggest 'spontaneously" If you're doing anything to to push the information into mind it's manual activation. So when PhotoReaders experience spontaneous activation they often don't realise it happened until much later.

What sold me on the PhotoReading course was the idea that I could get my reading done 3 times faster. To me that meant three books where I normally only managed one.

You're RIGHT! In legal-speak, it was an IMPLIED CONTRACT! That means that when something is obviously so, it must be SPECIFICALLY disclaimed if not so. THAT is why program licenses say that "No claim of merchantability is to be implied". That means that a word processor IS, BY IT'S SALE stating that it can process words, but they DISCLAIM that! They do that because there may be bugs, and they want to make that clear.

Likewise, a reading course implies that you have a decent hope of REMEMBERING what is read. PR, at least in the course, speaks of activation, and that states that you do NOT have a decent hope of remembering, without an extra step.

Don't the ads strongly imply that?

MAN, would THAT be silly! Photoread a book on mnemonics to learn the other stuff. So how do you learn the mnemonics?

I would be happy if it could achieve what I have before through other means. If I was NO better than the best of those times, I would be ECSTATIC!

Hi, 'seasoned'!!

What/how much do you remember when are reading at the customary 300 wpm generally 'tied' to an mirrored reading dialog in your fore-conscious mind?

Most classic reading is tied to the pace of speaking via ones inner dialog. Useful for ruminating or assimilating in a tractor like mode where you 'push' forward through...

I still use it, after I photoread, have pre-viewed and double verified that subject material is critical for immediate use. Like programming, mathematics, writing out philosophy.

Right now I am digesting an advance 1800 page manual on ACCESS 2007 so to develop, write and use a new software I have had in mind, to develop for a long while. Yet I have never used this program before.

PhotoReading and the processes before and after do this for me.

Open the way to get through a vast amount of info very quickly. In order to light upon this program, I first also PhotoRead four other competing computer manuals to affirm this fifth one was good to go. That is some 5000 plus pages of programming manuals, just recently. (different software applications)

Before photoreading, no way. I bought them, briefly pet them and then lost track of them. This way I cover tens of thousands of pages of very complicated material and zone right in to what I need, slow it down and use it within days, both on paper and at the computer.

I have never been so delighted at such possibilities. Everything I do has always been self-taught and last few months have been the equivalent to progress of years prior.

Anyway, I just love 'legal disclaimers'. ( I kind-of collect them )

Here is one:

"Please proceed at you own risk. All statements and examples are not intended to represent or guarantee that everyone (read you) will achieve the same results. (as mentioned here) Each individual's success will be determined by his or her desire, dedication, background, health, personal application, effort and continued motivation to work and follow the generously provided 'recommendations'. There is no guarantee you will duplicate the fine results of some of those mentioned. You recognize any endeavor personal or professional has an inherent 'risk' of failure, loss of applied time and even ones patience."

END OF DISCLOSURE:

Thus caps the fine state of our legalized culture!

Actually, if I read THAT slowly, I can remember quite a bit. Even reading much faster than that I can do ok.

Yeah, I started doing that around the age of 6 or so, and CAN turn it off. I don't have to think in English.

That's disappointing. 8-(

Why don't you use VB? In some ways it is EASIER, and it IS more flexible.

Yeah, but the idea was about their not stating that they had instantaneous activation. Although the disclosure avoids legal repercussions, the idea of instantaneous activation IS implied.

Hi again,

Thanks for a conversation!!

I can think in or out of English, however I really enjoy it for philosophy and mathematics (for mathematics, thinking in # or concepts).

Yes, VB for Access, just boning up on it today.

And instantaneous activation, entrances me, yet I did not feel they (the program) really emphasized it. It was covered last few pages, end of chapter, where all the 'other' manual activation techniques are well covered and emphasized.

No matter, I personally prefer 'instantaneous activation' with some dipping. I think/feel that if one persists to the demand of clear seeing by 'instantaneous activation' and Photoreads a great deal it will come to you.

It is also handy to have a definite demand and application for what one desires to have active in mind for use.

How much have you Photoread so far?

Kind Regards,

Perhaps 6-7 real books(I may still read another tonight. They have probably averaged about 400 pages a piece.), and 7-8 ebooks, etc... I still don't have the sensations you guys speak of, don't get the "blip page", and feel I learn more by a kind of hyper reading. It is fast, but only perhaps a fifth of the 25000wpm claimed for photoreading. Anyway, I already know what I would read if I could read and really remember at 25000wpm. That would be great. I would be torn if I should read all the books I have. I even have books on old O/S and languages I was once expert in and now may not be.

BTW I got a vision therapy course for a number of reasons, but also because it has been suggested for PR.

The programming principles seem the same over time.

I have a few old books around here on improving vision. Dated back to the 30's and 40's, 'Art of Seeing' by Aldous Huxley, 1942 and 'See Without Glasses' by Ralph J. MacFadyen, 1948. A few other gems...

They encompassed exercises like palming, long-swing, using an eye-chart for confidence etc. I got into it from time to time back 25 years or so. Succeeded only in slowly down the advance of near-sightedness to where it is stable and mostly 20/20 correctable. I found 'emotional' blocks to my progress when I was younger, I think fondly from time to time to take up the studies again.

Good success to you!!

Well Yukala,

I started out with 20/25 vision. A QUACK said that a minor problem was EYE STRAIN! I have that problem TO THIS DAY. Ironically, he said my weaker eye SEEMED stronger simply because it had less astigmatism. Anyway, it was insisted that, if I used them ALL THE TIME that it would help my problem. It just made me dependent. Still, I had OK vision, and could easily pass the DMV test.

Some IDIOT insisted I see a diagram that they should have made better. I decided to get stronger glasses. My corrected vision is 20/20 and I can see just about any little thing anyone else can, but STILL couldn't see their ridiculously small print. Still, I got dependent and, a few years ago, had SO much trouble with the DMV eye test that I chickened out and used my glasses.

ALSO, I am apparently unusual in that I am far sighted and my main problem is astigmatism. Still, I wake up seeing FAR better and I think today I had the best vision I have had in years, and I didn't tire. If I could even get to 20/40 with fairly clear vision, I would be happy. That would ALSO probably be good enough to have the DMV remove my requirement for correction.

Steve
