I just bought Stephen Halpern's Enhancing Creavity CD, I was wondering if it would help be get in tune with what it takes to image stream (I have had trouble). I am supposed to listen to it at least once a day for 30 days for it to really kick in. I figure since it is mainly creativity image streaming helps with the CD might help me, also maybe it will help me visualize since visualization and creativity are both right brain functions.

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

It cannot hurt to try. If you want to help it move a long to enhance your visualisation skill you might want to try this.

Grab a ream of paper and for a 2 weeks sit down for 15 minutes a day draw something on ten sheet of paper, this allows 5 minutes to prepare mentally relax etc.

Here are some rules you might want to apply.
1. Draw one thing only on each sheet of paper.
2. Crappy drawing is desired (you're looking to understand the symbolism of the mind) so if you draw a vertical line with a dot on the end and call it a flag pole. Thats what it is.
3. You can draw is anything - if you need start with a pencil lying on your desk, move to the coffee cup, the potted plant, select pictures from photos and name the item, house, dog, cat, car.
4. Have a list of about 70 things that you are going to draw have the photo or the real subject available.
5. Draw one minute per page not longer (now you know why your drawings will be crappy )
6. Label your drawings
7. When done turn them face down. Don't look at them again.
8. Check the item off your list.
9. When done. Have a shot at image streaming if desired (optional)

Do this for 1 week looking at your source. Keep the list because you are going to draw everything on it again - from memory, the second week. You can look at your drawings at the end of 2 weeks to compare your memory drawn ones to the ones you drew from a source. When you do remember score them on symbolism not how well you drew them. Although if you do this for about 6 weeks your art will probably improve too.

Make a game of it. It enhances your powers of observation. You may find yourself saying to yourself - well, a dog has a funny pointed face, long floppy ears short legs tail turned up, because you happen to be thinking of a certain breed of dog. It's cool when you do that. It means you are visualising and slowing the image down enough to catch it.

The book Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain - Betty Edwards will help teach you some observation tricks. I highly recommend you try the blind contour drawing exercise. You might like to read this book while listening to the CD.

Thanks, that's interesting. I will give that a shot in the very near future.
