Hey Seng,

1)Yes, do not let the terms confuse you. Relaxed alertness means that you are relaxed, yet at the same time aware of your surroundings. This IS the ideal state, which is also known as the accelerated learning state. Don't let the terminology bother you.

2)I'm not sure what the learning outcomes are, but if I assume correctly, it tells you what you will learn in the chapter? That's absolutely fine to use, I see no reason why you shouldnt.

3)When you photoread, don't worry about missing important details. The reason that you feel like you're using the traditional method is because you are pulled into passive reading. Become more active. Don't forget your purpose and your questions. Any questions unanswered while activating are what you're looking for now. Go fast through what you already know, slow down when you're learning something new.

4)I usually don't mind map during activation unless the book is for school, or if you want to remember the information for a longer time. Don't worry about mindmapping, it's not necessary, but it CAN teach you good memory habits. You will be at a slight disadvantage, but most of the time it won't be noticed anyway.

5)The point is that the different hemispheres of the brain, creative and logical, will pick up the different voices. You need not consciously understand, just relax. Notice the voices, try not to notice what they're saying. When you do, you will start becoming flustered as they go on, as you most likely won't keep up, and you won't be relaxed anymore.

6)You can most certainly succeed with the self study, as that is how I learned and I have great success with it. Be sure to read posts made on the forum from years ago, as they are very informative and even Pete Bissonette would post responses.
Just be sure to use the system often and you will succeed.
