1.find creating the list from scratch works well. Since the topic is avionic then by default you have created a linking method the first letter to the subject. Makes a great list in itself.

If you thought about it as you created it half of them become memorised already if you have trouble linking the idea to the letter this is were I would draw in my core anchorman list...the thread from my memory web to pull it in. A bit lazy on my part but I see no point in falling back on the anchorman list for each and every letter. If my subject list has a cear title and my crative imagery for each letter links it and it'ssound enough that it makes sense. Then the anchorman link isn't required. If I have to go back to the list to remember it... then I'll add the number/letter from the anchorman to the item to strenghten my connection.

2. have fun and create before... what you already know about the subject ( the list may be gappy) During (another list) After as in the form of a summary. It doesn't have to take long. Remember you don't have to do a full anchorman list you could just do an analograffiti to get you started.

3.You can use "any" abc list as a peg list. This is definately an area where you may use the list that has most meaning to you and builds on your web.


Second set of questions
1. have fun. The game is to see how many you can create. I had a chase with someone to come up with a cute name for an animal fore each letter of the aphabet... some already existed Bugs-Bunny, Daffy-Duck, Mickey-Mouse, Some we had to think harder for. Adam ant etc but the fun of it was in the chase. It helps to think quick and think creative as well as calling on your memory.

2. remembering... that's their purpose... giving you a method of remembering. Both techniques are correct and valid... each in their own time.

3. Yes, make a list and trash it. You'll have fun recreating the list later No loss because you've used your memory for pulling up information. Still useful to have a couple of list around.

I've got some as bookmarks... wrote down the abc's of the book and some additional ideas on the back. (I don't actually use bookmarks anymore but it's cool having a look at the list and remembering why i liked or didn't like the book).
