Your strategy sounds like a great one. Use the learning trick, as you mentioned, and just think of the other techniques as added activation techniques. Use these along with super reading and dipping or try them alone as your activation techniques, depending on how much information and comprehension you've gotten and how much more, if any, you feel you need.
