The Memory Optimizer is a Mind Manual, exposing the patterns of how it works to all who are interested. Once you know how something works, you can begin to affect the changes you want.

I was doing ABC lists out loud in the car on the way to an appointment. The lists were the usual - movies, cars, actors, books, authors, etc.

Time after time, I'd come to a letter that I had no entry for, so I vamped. I just blurted out any word starting with the letter, as fast as I could, and suddenly I had it! The name for a car starting with the missing letter appeared, where I had no name for it just moments ago. Usually I would rack my brain and get stuck, but this time I just started freely associating with words on the letter, any words, or simply moved on to the next letter.

It happened successfully, so often that I started laughing out loud - a laugh of amazement and recognition. And I arrived at my appointment in a really, really good mood.

I still haven't made it through the entire program - I am on the exercise where you can stay present by pointing out items, and giving them unrelated names, developed by Keith Johnstone. Being able to stay present and in the moment is one of the things that saved me in my stressful job last year, so it is of special interest to me. It's nice to run across those types of exercises, as well as those directly related to strengthening memory. It shows how wide ranging the Memory Optimizer program is.

Kudos to Vera, Paul, and Learning Strategies. I think you have a huge hit on your hands!
