OK, Pete, I've listened to the first three CD's and read part one of the manual. I'm surprised to be enjoying it more than I expected. When I heard that much of the information would be provided as a dialog, I was turned off. it sounded like a really hokey idea. It's actually enjoyable and it seems like a great way to relate the information.

On page 17, there is a small text box that suggests building a virtual tribe. Are you actually suggesting here that people begin to post personal histories?

You can use this Forum as a Virtual Tribe (which is one of the reasons we set it up as private), or you can use the Forum to find other memembers to create a Virtual Tribe on the side.

I really would be grateful for anyone's comments on what a virtual tribe means to them. I found it intimidating.

Tribe relates to the first chakra/consciousness where family dominates. The scared concept connected w/ it is: we are all one.

I would appreciate hearing from others any and everything about what a virtual tribe means to them. I have been travelling to India for more than 20 yrs. & i have never travelled w/ anyone. Likewise, i've been travelling to Germany for 7 yrs. & have never gone w/ anyone. So, maybe for me, i have a real question about whether or not belonging to a tribe is beneficial.

The only thing i can think of is that by commenting on a DF, i may already be a member of a virtual tribe?

I assumed it related back to Vera's suggestion that people used to resist Alzheimer's because they shared personal histories by telling stories. To me, this meant they were suggesting that we do something similar through this forum. That's why I was surprised. Didn't seem like they would want to gum up their server with a bunch of personal stuff (and I don't know how I feel about sharing much of that, anyway...) I'll take a wait and see approach.

I would definitely be interested in seeing how we can work together on other facets of the program (coming up with topics for ABC lists that we all try and share, coming up with ideas for what belongs on history timelines, etc...some of the tasks that might be better with a group but for which I have no group)

Yes, i like the wait & see. I know that i definitely do not want to let personal history stuff interfer w/ our understanding of her concepts & implementing them.

The thing i find curious is that my parents, both 80, seem to forget all kinds of little things that happened yesterday, today. But, when it comes to memories from their childhood, they are recalling them quite often now.

I looked at your ABC list for PhRing & was amazed. I just made a freelance graphics of the ABC list & printed out a number of copies. I figure i can do at least 3 lists per page.

As for topics for ABC lists...it's endless. I think the main thing is to know the root of the word chosen. That part in tape 2 is very fascinating. That's what hooked me. The ability to also know the reason for chosing a particular word is very important.

What do you mean by a history timeline? My understanding of history timelines could go according to age, places lived, first thoughts, people you knew when, physical development, schools, grades, etc. Is this what you mean?

What amazed you with the list? I was disappointed because it seemed pretty lame. That's why I'm hoping to see more of them. It will be interesting to see how people make those connections. I'm hoping to learn something from it.

I guess I was refering to Vera's Life Chart idea. My past is an absolute blur. Ask me what I was doing during most years or on particular dates and you'd typically get a blank stare. The few I remember are John Lennon being shot, the Challenger blowing up, and McVeigh's dastardly deed. I would be hard-pressed to put together a list of important historical events without a fair amount of research. Does that make sense?

My memory of my childhood is almost zip. My family is always discussing things that happened & i am always left out. I keep wondering what i was thinking at the time. I ask them where i was & they say: Right there!

I will be doing all kinds of lists first before i attempt to tackle my childhood memories. I think i would like to do a list for grade school. K > 6

What do you think about a K > 6 list?

That's an interesting idea. How would you go about it?

On a side note, don't you wish LSC used beta testers?...

After seeing your list, i would not be able to think of different words. Your list w/ the exception of a couple words would be my list. After all it's PhRing.

The key is to know --at the same time-- why you chose that particular word. Might be better if you did another list like: animals or colors

colors: me--abstract, blue, cream, dark brown (my shoes), E?, flush(pink), green, H?,
indigo, juniper green, K?, lavender, M?, neutral, O?, pickle(green), quill(blue/ink), rose, S?, T?, uranium(grey), V?, willow green, X?, yellow, stripes(black/white zebra)

I have to go back & see how to make the ones i didn't get---Creative
