Ok - so if I dont need the numeric sequence then I can use an ABC list...
What happens if I am faced with a problem to solve? I dont know what letter the answer starts with so I have to go through the whole thing to find what I am looking for? This doesnt seem useful to me... I typically have to study much, much more than 26 bits of information - maybe 1000's.I dont want to run through everything I know to find an answer... and I dont need to memorise everything parrot fashion either. Or am I missing something? Could a basic ABC list be a good prompt to remember further details?
I thought of creating many ABC lists while learning, studying and again revising - one list for the whole course or book or whatever and then further lists for each section - but then not memorising these lists - using them more as a thinking (or activation) tool. Each time around I would make new lists and not refer back to the old ones. The act of creating the lists seems to be quite helpful in itself.
