Hey steve,
Well as for photoreading the whole book, what I would do is keep the purpose general. Then as I activate each chapter (individually), I would set a specific purpose for each of them. Also make sure to go through each chapter during a preview or postview and determine which skills you know for sure you will want to learn and apply.
And photoread AND activate other books, that you feel you should. Photoread them all, activate the ones you know suit your purpose.
