I think this is a piece of photoreading i am missing. If my mind cant recognize words i am photoreading how can i expect to spontaneusly activate. Will a stronger vocavulary help photoreading?

You assert on left hand (to another poster) and wonder if could it true on this thread (and another)?

Nice dichotomy!

By the way I am up to 'P'.

Hey 'brain' no problem!!

Yes you can do that. And get a stronger vocabulary. Your brain cant proccess the mental information if it doesnt understand what some words mean. Just improve your vocabulary and then start photoreading using the manual activation techniques. The activation Pete does will surface itself over time.

Anyway, photoreading the dictionary will not help, this is because as your photoreading words in the dictionary your brain will not recognize some of them, or the explanations of some of the words.

The best solution for solving this problem would be to invest in the wordsmart program (costs like 250 dollars so if your not desperate don't buy it) or find another way of building vocabulary.

Photoreading was mainly developed for adults when it was created. And all of the adults who used photoreading already had a huge vocabulary to began with. A huge problem with the photoreading whole mind system is not having a strong vocabulary to begin with. If you invest your time in strengthening your vocabulary manual activation will become easier and then spontaneous activation will surface itself and you will then see yourself photoreading like Pete.

I don't think so.

I already answer this question once before either you did not see my answer or chose to ignore it so i will respond again.

I don't think building your vocabulary is the solution or answer to you having problems activating.

You do not give me the impression of a person who has to stop after every third word he reads and stop and say i don't know the meaning of that word i need to look it up in the dictionary to find out what it means. I don't see you with a book having to stop every third word and say i don't know what that words means i have to look it up in the dictionary to find out what it means.

Your problem is you do not want to do the work involved with activation.

You keep going on and on about wanting a spontaneous activation experience it isn't a spontaneous activation experience if you are on the constant lookout waiting for a spontaneous activation experience to occur.

The biggest problem you have is your avoidance of doing the work involved with activation.

I suspect...

The more comfortable one is with using, relying without stress, ones own intuition; the less dependent upon manual activation.

However, manual activation with keen and comfortable use of intuition the more potent said manual activation would be.

Conversely;

The less comfortable one is with using and relying upon ones own intuition the more dependent one would necessarily be with adroit application of manual activation.

Just some further thoughts upon the matter.

Intuition would even inform one of the 'meaning' of new words for that matter or the importance of looking up said meaning. (I have frequently experienced both of these)

Brain,

What grade level is your reading up to? I've had 12 year olds in my class handle adult material and activated a 10 page article in 7 minutes. We discuss the authors train of thoughts afterwards. Adults are reluctant to share what they learned for fear of discovering they are wrong. Yet the kids are brilliant and converse quite easily.

Point... they dump their critical processor and just do what I asked them to do after teaching them about the authors train of thoughts.

Point 2 they have an adequate vocabulary. They don't dump on themselves or look for excuses.

If you're working with material that you are finding challenging because of the language the author uses Begin activating at the glossary of the book.

Next ask mind probing questions because even if you don't know the words the words surrounding it will often clue you as to the meaning.

In other words read for meaning not just words.

Either experiment with PhotoReading the dictionary daily or not.

But I suggest you quit giving away your power by asking everyone to validate your thinking for you. Make up your own mind and go with it. It either works for you or doesn't.

If it works great share what you did and perhaps others can benefit.

If it doesn't work great, share what you did and perhaps others can see something they can modify and try for themselves and give us more feedback.

I talked to my mom about this since i have been having so much trouble applying the photoreading system and she told me its propably because i have a weak vocabulary to start with. Its hard to rely on my intuation to guide me.

And i noticed i dont have a powerfull vocabulary i took a test and found out i have an 8th grade vocabulary and i am in 10th grade. So i will take your advice with photoreading the dictionary. And the other advice of photoreading 5-10 books a day and activating one of those each week while waiting for spontaneus activation sounds like genius.

Fortunately the 8 grade level of reading is sufficient for learning PhotoReading. Try setting yourself up with material that is more your level of reading and build from there. It's not necessary to skip a couple of grades to catch up. Use the system to your advantage build your skill using material that is at your level and accelerate from there. You might be surprised how much faster you progress instead of trying to skip the grades.
