In skittering you read the first sentence. Then skitter the rest of the paragraph Do that for each paragraph. Skitter the rest of the paragraph looking for phrases and words that ass meaning to the first sentence. If the paragraph didn't make sense to you you read the last sentence of the paragraph. This is why skittering is much slower than superreading.
If the paragraph is correctly structures then the first sentence introduces the topic of that paragraph.
Skittering is best suited to academic text or authors who manage to write half or whole page paragraphs.
