I'm studying a text book for an exam.

I have photoread the book and lecture slides.

The lecture slides generally tell me what is of importance in the book that will be in the exam.

Rather than super-read and dip, can't I just use the slides as relevant indication to what will be on the exam, and then just look in the text book contents and index to do further rapid reading within the text?

I feel this will save time, bypassing irrelevant material that would be passed through in super-reading.

Also, what does 'multiple passes' involve, since it is necessary for retrieving the information? Is it the preview, phoroaread, mind probe, s/r dip, mindmap all together, or is it multiple super-reading/rapid reading?

I think what you are saying is, can I use the slides before my mind probing question for the book. At least that's what I would be doing. Superread and dip rather than rapid read. Activate in layers.

If you don't understand what multiple passes or activating in layers is. You should be learning the system on another book, not books for the exam.

yes that's what is meant by multiple layers. Work in short blocks of time. I found 20 minutes best.
