Look behind the stereogram. If you're a beginner (as I see it) then you should print out the stereograms on eyetricks. com (in a colored version of course) because it's hard to see them on a monitor. First, try easier ones like the dog, the butterfly,
and then later the texts.
Yes, it will improve your focus ability. To be simple:
You are in Photofocus when you look at the book as if you were looking far away. That's what we call divergence. When you are looking on thing which is close to you your eyes are converging because you're looking on something close to you. If you can see the blip page that means your eyes are diverging relatived to the middle of the book which means you are looking further than the middle of the book but not looking further than the whole book, which means only the middle of the book is in photofocus.
In order to get the whole book in photofocus you must diverge your eyes as much as you can see the whole book, which means that you must look on the book as if you were looking very far away (that's why we call it gaze) and you are doing this alright if you see the book at once and the blip in the middle.
To see the blip, begin with the cocktail-weenie effect. Look on
a wall which is far away from you and while you're doing this touch both of your showfingers with each other. You will see the cocktail-weenie between your fingers. And then do the same with a book. You will see the blip page in the middle of the book.
Then bring down your eyes so that you are looking at the book with eyes still looking far away. And then if you got this do what I've written above (before the cocktail-weenie).
Remember, the goal of photofocus is to look on the whole book
(at once) with eyes looking far away, which you're doing alright if you see the whole book at once with a blip in the middle
This is so because everything you see in front of you but
you're not looking directly on it, just see it is processed by the subconscious. What you see from the corner of your eyes is not processed by your subconscious, it is processed by an other part of your brain which is called (in a "might-be be bad" translation") "ancient-brain". This part of your brain is for self-defense: e. g.: if somebody you see only from the corner of your eye throws a stone at you, you automaticaly dodge. This is when your ancient-brain reacts, this part of your brain cannot be used for learning. And finally, what you're looking at directly is processed by the conscious part of your brain.
So this is why we do photofocus that way. That's it in a nutshell.
Sorry, if I haven't been very clear. Don't hesitate to ask me if you don't understand something, I'll try to give you a clearer answer.
If you can do what I've written above you're doing fine.
