Hi there,

I was wondering does a person need to be able to decode a stereogram in order to succeed the focus while photo reading.

Namely, I visited Wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Stere...ula,_Russia.jpg and there I am able to get the third picture from those two (something similar should I get when I hold the book opened, that cylinder, right?), but later on I tried with other stereograms on the net i.e. http://www.eyetricks.com/3dstereo.htm and wasn't able to see anything.

Do I need to see stereograms and will I with that improve my focus ability?

Thanks a lot.
Regards

Look behind the stereogram. If you're a beginner (as I see it) then you should print out the stereograms on eyetricks. com (in a colored version of course) because it's hard to see them on a monitor. First, try easier ones like the dog, the butterfly,
and then later the texts.
Yes, it will improve your focus ability. To be simple:
You are in Photofocus when you look at the book as if you were looking far away. That's what we call divergence. When you are looking on thing which is close to you your eyes are converging because you're looking on something close to you. If you can see the blip page that means your eyes are diverging relatived to the middle of the book which means you are looking further than the middle of the book but not looking further than the whole book, which means only the middle of the book is in photofocus.
In order to get the whole book in photofocus you must diverge your eyes as much as you can see the whole book, which means that you must look on the book as if you were looking very far away (that's why we call it gaze) and you are doing this alright if you see the book at once and the blip in the middle.
To see the blip, begin with the cocktail-weenie effect. Look on
a wall which is far away from you and while you're doing this touch both of your showfingers with each other. You will see the cocktail-weenie between your fingers. And then do the same with a book. You will see the blip page in the middle of the book.
Then bring down your eyes so that you are looking at the book with eyes still looking far away. And then if you got this do what I've written above (before the cocktail-weenie).
Remember, the goal of photofocus is to look on the whole book
(at once) with eyes looking far away, which you're doing alright if you see the whole book at once with a blip in the middle
This is so because everything you see in front of you but
you're not looking directly on it, just see it is processed by the subconscious. What you see from the corner of your eyes is not processed by your subconscious, it is processed by an other part of your brain which is called (in a "might-be be bad" translation") "ancient-brain". This part of your brain is for self-defense: e. g.: if somebody you see only from the corner of your eye throws a stone at you, you automaticaly dodge. This is when your ancient-brain reacts, this part of your brain cannot be used for learning. And finally, what you're looking at directly is processed by the conscious part of your brain.
So this is why we do photofocus that way. That's it in a nutshell.
Sorry, if I haven't been very clear. Don't hesitate to ask me if you don't understand something, I'll try to give you a clearer answer.
If you can do what I've written above you're doing fine.

Hi again,

I was not sure if saw the blip correctly, so I used the method from stereogram.
I draw two spots, each one inch away from the middle. When trying to Photofokus I can recognize that 3 spots are in my view, and that should be the proof that my divergence is the right one, right?
What I also noticed the third spot (the one in the middle) appears on the right side of the book. Acctually the spot in the middle stays where the right one was, and a new one appears a bit on the right over the text. It look like.

* * *
gdsfdfgfgdg fgdfgdsfggfd
dfdgdfggffg fdgdfgfgfdfd
fgdgfdfgffg gdfgfgdfgfgg

Is that a problem, should (or am I able to) I force it somehow to move in the middle?

There is no need for your divergence being centered.

Just go over the pages with the 'X'.

See both pages at the same time and the blip in the midlle, that's all you need.

Guy thanks for support, but I am still struggling with the blip.
I am able to see blip when I cross my eyes a bit and than the cylinder is not empty, but it contains text.
As soon as I move a right page it desapites immediately, so that is probably wrong blip.
Anyway, just to have it clear. The blip will appear in that way that the middle line (where left and right page are connecting) and which is a bit darker than the page due to shaddow will duplicate and than I will have a feeling as if I were looking at the cylinder, right?
Should I play with my eyes in that way to go from cross to divergence?
I am able to see a whole book at once, and the text is blured, but that bothers me because I cannot be sure that I'm in photofokus...
I'll take a day or two rest, and continue than.

Thanks
Regards

Milan,

I don't think you should be so concerned with something as little as the blip page. As long as you are not focusing on the text on the pages, rather in the middle of the book, and can still see the four corners of the book, you'll be photoreading.

The blip page will have text in it, it all depends on how close the words on the page are to the center of the book. That's not a big deal.

The text should be blurred when you're in photofocus.
If it goes away for a second or two, it doesn't matter. As long as you see the whole book and you're not focusing on the text you'll be fine.

Don't cross your eyes. I think you shouldn't start with the stereograms, because thex are hard to see for a beginner. I also started with cocktail-weenie, then blip, then the stereograms.
Have you got the cocktail-weenie, Milan?

You can just push on and master the process, it takes practice.

However, after you master it, you might find as I now believe it is a 'confidence builder' that you are Photoreading.

However, I maintain any light exposed to the eyes is Photoread or photographed. The difference is your 'intent' to master the subject.

It is no different than training one might receive in special arts that requires exact remembering and conscious processing of ones immediate environment.

Similar to special agent training, sports or detective work of any kind.

The eyes photograph all light they are exposed to, so it does not matter in what manner you turn those pages...

Trust me, it does not matter.

Try it!!

Don't need to print out the stereograms in colour black and white works just fine. It's a nice tool to play with these 3-D images to help you keep to the blip page if you are able to see it.

That's correct.

Probably the right blip. Since photofocus is a new skill naturally the blip page will disappear as you slip back into normal focus. Play with stereograms, and you will find that the blip page will become much more steady and disappear less.
