I have a relative who is suffering from alzheimer's and rapidly progressing. She is stuck in some major past resentments and anger and even threatens violence. She is on about 8 different kinds of medications. My question is, how effective is SFQ in reversing the effects of alzheimer's completely? My first thought would be to work on healing her liver. Are there any other special techniques that I could use here? I want to believe I could help her. It is difficult to watch her suffer so much and I don't want to buy into the current medical notions that it is incurable and irreversible and can only possibly be prevented. A part of me knows that this can't be true. Keep in mind I do not live with her and am not her primary caregiver so much of the healing I would be doing is distance healing.

In all honesty some of my confidence as a healer is a little shot after losing my mother to a completely different illness almost a year ago. I found it hard to have faith and confidence and believe in her complete healing since she was my mother and very visibly sick. I think I didn't want to believe fully in case I was disappointed. Well, I was disappointed, yet deep down inside of me I knew she could have had a complete healing. (I know it's not my fault and I can't 'save' people) What the experience taught me, though, was that there are places I need to heal myself emotionally in order to be more of an effective healer for people, particularly close family members and friends.

As I am writing this, though I am realizing that I must let go of the past in order to heal myself and others much better. I have had glimpses of my ability to heal people who I am not so much attached to. Much of my Mother's suffering and the current suffering of my relative, who incidentally is my mother's cousin, has a lot to do with not letting go. They both grew up on the same island, very poor, and both born in the 1930's. So I know both suffered through major hardships in their early lives. Though I in no way went through most of the things that they did, I want to break this pattern of holding onto pain, humiliation, anger and resentment, as a young woman.

Any suggestions, insights, or responses from people who have had success with reversing some or all of the symptoms of alzheimer's/dementia would be greatly appreciated as well as people who can relate to what I said about the difficulty they find in trying to heal people close to them and any ways they have gotten around this.

Griot

P.S. I do have the faith and confidence paraliminal which I will begin listening to on a regular basis.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Try this one on...

I am realizing that she must let go of the past in order to heal herself.

You are just a vessel, but she does the healing, not you. You do your best, then let go and let them, the Qi, and the universe/God handle how the rest turns out.

Hi,
Regarding your experience of difficulty working with people you are close to...
In the Level II manual, there are three secrets to qigong healing listed. One of them states:
" To purify your energy and make your healing more effective and powerful go into the emptiness while doing healing. In the emptiness you are free of the concerns of everyday life so you can focus on helping others."

There is more than one answer to your post in that.

Do your best to help elders. You can help them alot, regardless of whether they completely are able to clear themselves or not.
It is possible to completely prevent Alzheimers for future generations, and that is a very positive and important side of the equation too. Plants qigong seeds in the younger generation. Somehow, that feels to complete a circle, and it keeps your mother's spirit, and gift of experience to you, in the loop.

Yes, the emptiness is a place I must visit more often. I really feel great after I've gone there. I wonder why I don't go there enough? Over the holidays I meditated so much, as much sometimes as two hours a day I think this had a lot to do with this being the first holiday season without my mother and it really hit me hard. After the holidays, though, I really cut down on the amount of meditation I was doing though I feel as though my third eye has been opening and this feels wonderful and powerful yet I fear it to some extent which I let block me from helping to heal others. I think there is so much I am still processing from meditating for such long periods which I have never done before. I've only managed to sit for an hour before this. These two hour meditations have been healing and profound. It's just of note that I haven't returned to even meditating for half an hour a day on a regular basis since the holidays ended. I bet my confidence will return once I begin practicing again and sending my relative healing energy. Completely trusting the universal energy is my big resolution this year! And letting go.

I've been doing the Sun meditations and Moon and the small universe. Mostly sun and small universe though. I don't do so many active exercises though I think I might incorporate them. Particularly the level two exercises.

Any advice for meditating long periods of time? I feel that my intution and dreaming life is much stronger than ever. I probably have some "stuff" attached to associating intuition and dream imagery and third eye stuff with alzheimer's/dementia but I am moving beyond this fear. Again these are trust issues. Questions that come up for me are, should I trust the information I get or is it even possible that I can stimulate the healing in others or am I hallucinating and losing my mind. I know that I am not and that the Qi is bringing this stuff up so that I can release it like butterflies into the world. But it just reinforces for me that i need to return to my Qigong practice on a daily basis again.

Anybody ever have similar concerns as these?

Hi Griot,
Yes, it would be good for you to return to your daily practice.
If you can, do active exercise too. They support each other, and make for a more complete and 'balanced' practice. Sometimes emotional feelings can keep you from feeling like doing the active exercise, and meditation seems more doable. That is certainly fine, although I would say that one goes into thinking, to make these decisions, and it is easy to talk yourself into or out of, just about anything. Many times, I am self aware, seeing myself 'start' to think about whether or not to exercise or meditate, and if I stop that thinking process and just do it, I do it.
It is good to write and hear yourself talk. You answer many of your own questions, or bring up the right choice, as you know what it is right on some level, even though you kick around the consideration. Your practice can help you through this. It grounds you, and also provides time out of your head which is transformational in regards to what you consider or wonder about.
You will strengthen yourself in body and spirit, and clarity will come with that.
Please know that your mother is still accessible in spirit. My mother passed away from Alzheimers. In the final months, she had mini or cluster strokes here and there. At one point I visited her, and she was sitting in a chair twitching, uncontrollably jerking, and had no ability to communicate, although the staff said they could see a difference in her upon my being present.
That didn't help, as I then considered her possible suffering in that state. It took time, but through my meditation practice, following my intuition and also utilizing any relative qigong technique/theory, I managed to transform the negative image and memory. I don't recall all the specifics, but in the last meditation session that shifted it all, I remember seeing her smiling, looking how she looked in her youth, and two larger than life angels lifting her off and away. That is now my memory of her. Intuition can provide the missing pieces, in how to do, what you do not know initially how to do. I invited my mother in to several of my meditations , sometime after her passing. I remember holding her head in my hands, and focusing on healing for her spirit and from the possible trauma in how she died. Eventually her image changed, and I knew she was okay. Sometime after that, I was helping a very sick young man over the course of a few years. He died, and I immediately kept working with his spirit afterwards. I was very aware of the gift of experience given me surrounding my mother's passing.

Hey Gallen,

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. That was really helpful to me. I've been dreaming about my mother a lot recently and in my dreams she seems well. At first, not long after she passed, I would have visions of her standing in a certain corner of my apartment looking very sick but not quite as sick as she looked when she passed. I did some space clearing in that area and a lot of meditation. A few months later, I attended church services at the church we had her funeral in for the first time since her death (I hadn't even realized it until I was there and felt extremely sad) I closed my eyes and saw her looking so bright, happy and beautiful and from then on she has appeared to me in my Qi Gong meditations, particularly while doing Chunyi's self-concentration meditation, the part where you see yourself running with children in nature. She looks so well and free and full of energy. It's amazing how much I have these experiences but disregard them as projections or daydreams rather than seeing them as some form of connection with her. I don't try to see her I just see her. Through my Qi Gong practice and opening up my third eye with the Sun and Moon meditations I have felt much closer to her than ever.

I also love the idea of continuing to send her spirit healing energy. In some ways I already do this but to do it more consciously and with more confidence would be great. Thank you for the encouragement with the Active exercises too as you can tell I spend a great deal of time running around inside my head and usually when I do practice QiGong I do a sitting meditation. I think the idea of doing some of each thing will be very balancing and grounding for me as you suggested.

In reading back over my posts I do see how much I have strong intuitions yet still wrestle with myself about them. I am learning to trust myself more and more, though, and stories like yours really help me in that area.

It's interesting how this post started with me trying to learn how to help heal my relative with alzheimer's but instead has made me focus a bit more on trying to transform my grief and learn the lessons from my mother's life and death. This is so hopeful to me. Especially, Gallen, learning about how you trusted your intuition to help heal your mother in any way you could in body or in spirit.

I just started listening to the Faith and Confidence Paraliminals again. This is Day 2. I am going to add some active exercises to this. My intentions are to keep opening up my third eye, transform the heavy hopeless energy of my grief into much more free flowing creative energy, and to really help people to heal themselves. I will keep you posted.

Love, Griot
