I am currently studying for my professional accountancy qualification.

I have a written paper which is based on Integrated Management. There is three weightings to the book.

The Basis of Strategic Management 30%
Project Management 40%
The Management of Relationships 30%

I'm not able to get a clear purpose. I set my purpose to be that I want to get all the detail from this book in order to pass my exam. Maybe this is too high level?? I also can't seem to put out trigger words. In a 350 page book I seem to pull out alot of words. All of these are in bold type in the book.

I am getting myself more worried as my exam is May.

I don't feel I'm getting anything out of photoreading but I know that's because I'm not able to follow the system properly.

Can someone please help me work through this?

Do not try to learn photoreading while trying to pass such important examinations.

Just use your conventional study methods and techniques.

Now is not the time to be trying to learn photoreading. Now is the time to putting your total focus and energy on passing the examinations.

First study and prepare for your examinations.

You can learn photoreading later after you have passed your examinations.

It has been said many times on this forum do not try to learn photoreading on school materials.

It has got to be 'real' to you. A cliff, where your newly constructed wings work or you fall down upon the rocks.

I think you can absolutely use photoreading to help you with this even if mastery isn't 100%. At the very least, you can photoread book every day. This should only take a few minutes, and as you'll be studying frequently, this will count as activation.

When I first began, I would photoread books that I then would read normally. Comprehension was much easier, almost like reading a book I'd already read. Don't put pressure on yourself now to do all steps perfectly, just get the text book in your inner mind by photoreading daily. Also, believe that it works; this is helpful.

Learn PhotoReading, in particular activation, on a couple of books not relating to your studies. Textbooks make it difficult to see your progress as you are learning to PhotoReading.

PhotoReading your textbook as often as possible. Once you have successfully experience activation you will be able to work on your textbook. Chunk it down don't try to pull trigger words from the entire book. Work was single chapters as you progress through the book as needed. Remember too, that your classroom lectures are also a means of activation.

Your purpose doesn't work for me.



It fails, because it doesn't give you a way of measuring it should have what you need. What specifically, do you want to learn. I suggest creating a purpose for each chapter. Imagine how you would be using it in your future. Imagine yourself explaining the information to someone else. From there, form your purpose.
