Basically, the rule of thumb is a 30 minute window both before and after any SFQ practice, both active and meditation. The reason is that all of your energy is going to the digestion system after eating (or during). That is slightly undoes what you are wanting to happen with your SFQ practice, where the energy is opening channels and storing in lower tan tien (digestive system is NOT only the lower tan tien)

But again, it is is "good, better. best". This rule of thumb is "best". But for many people due to their schedule, it might be "better" for them to have to do SFQ right before or right after eating. That way they can practice more consistently.

And, again, since it is "good, better, best", though 30 minutes is "best", it might be better to do do 15 minutes than only 1 or 2 minutes.

20 is better than 15 and so on.

Hope that helps.

Falun Dafa (aka Falun Gong) although starting out as a form of qigong, now is more of a religious movement. That is not necessarily a bad thing, and there plenty of religious sects that start off or still remain benign. I am not so sure about Falun Dafa. They certainly have a controversial history!

ON the other hand, many people seem to have experienced good results from the practice.

Either way, I have found that as one moves through blockages, many different systems, and practices seem to call to one. It is part of the breaking through blockages and moving energy. My suggestion is to focus on one practice for at least a year or so before exploring more practices. There is so much that can learned and gained from immersing in one practice for an intense and extended period over moons (rather than just weeks, or even days), and a year is a good rule of thumb.

I say let's focus on SFQ for now.

For what it's worth...

Steve
