There is no end to learning or doing. Two legs for walking about in universes of light.

Take a breath making no thing wrong as such as you hold focus on where you wish to go, being.

If you need think that NLP or anything else has hung you up for 'x' number of years and turn back and rail at for another 'x' number of years... that would be a true waste, especially if time proves it out useful to you down the road.

I've definetly changed and I know that for a fact. These changes me have put me outside of my comfort zone and it's been effecting me hardcore. I've been told i look like a loser because i'm having more trouble doing simple tasks because i get a lesson out of it. I keep a positive frame of mind but this is what's happened to me as a result of using self-dev. I think i gotta do more stuff rather than keeping up with information and learning.

After doing lots of self-dev i've found that i get into difficult situations where there's a lessons involved and these seem to happen too often and it's frustrating.

Well, if you still find it difficult to fit in over time, maybe consider your own business.

Be happy anyway. As well pursue or get lost in a hobby that is near 'useless' to all but a few who might be like minded crazy.

Travel, move in different directions, one way and then another.

Lighten up and even screw up all without feeling bad about it.

Part of personal development is also getting out of the comfort zone so we learn something new. This is not an easy task. So you need to be patient and persist. It doesn't matter what other people say. If you feel that your workplace is unpleasant, look for another job.

A trap lots of people fall into as part of personal development is to learn a little bit about many techniques, but not applying much. I do it myself. Personal development is very fascinating.

I do not know much about NLP, or PhotoReading. However, I know that things that works take time to master, and people are slow when they start applying their skill. For instance, my children learned Chinese, Ancient Greek, Latin and French, besides English. The process slowed them down. It took them longer to learn how to read and write, but when the started reading and writing, they could do it in five important languages, and read from Plato and Cicero to Confuncius and Jacques Monod. For most of middle school, they lagged behind their classmates. Then thei Latin, French and Greek started bringing benefits. Now, they are always in the Honor Roll, and their SAT scores are well above the other students in their school.

If you learn Brazilian Jiujitsu or Muai Thai, this will slow your fighting skills for about five years. Any brawnier street fighter will defeat you. However, if you persevere, you will become pratically invincible.

I've felt good about every learning that I got out of my comfort zone because I know what to do for next time, but that's usually not the case. In the real world you're not going to be facing the same problems over and over again. My problem solving skills have deffinetly improved because i've realized that always learning something new isn't always a good thing because there is always something new you can be learning. I've learned that applying and doing will help you solve more problems rather than taking too much time learning about details that are irrelevant.

When working in the business world I've noticed so many average people saying "you learn something new everyday." They say this to hide the fact that they feel insecure for not knowing that new thing. You do learn new stuff every day but learning shouldn't be your focus, it's being more effective in your job that's going to do the trick. In my opinion, I think you should be happy for the knowledge you already have and apply it because you can be surprised what you can do with the knowledge you already have.

Right now I need a career and I know I want to spend the next 4 years in school because I know it's worth it for my future. In the past it seemed that i've taken all the stuff that i had going well for me for granted and dove way too deep into this self help stuff. Right now yes I do feel a little bad because I'm 4 years behind my peers (and i had the ability to accel but didn't use it) and I saw them going on with their life as my life was passing me by.

I need new friends because the ones I have spend too much money going out places and at the bar and they call me cheap because I don't buy as many drinks or leave as big of tips. That's a very ignorant statement if you ask me because i was making less money and putting in a bigger percentage of my pay cheque towards these times when we go places. That was some big spending especially since I was only working part time and was a student while they were working full time. If I was making money I wouldn't try being a big shot tipping to try and get attention and looking like a fool. These waitresses see you as manipulative and a sucker at the same time. Another friend of mine who i've known for years (who is a good friend) but he refers to us as being losers and don't get the quality service that higher status people get. Eventhough I don't have many friends i'm thinking of spending less time with friends and more on my future. I'm going to be going somewhere as they are wasting their time drinking and trying to be big shots. Big shots don't waste their money to get approval by the way.

My new friends are going to have ambition and have the same goal to work towards, success. I'm talking about school here. I'll have an easier time with people with a better self-image. I don't want to totally disregard my old friends because they are good people, but they just won't help me on my path in life. I've got to not hang around them as much and if they are good friends they will understand.

I totally agree you need to change friends since personal development has changed you. You are right in keeping in touch with them, but avoiding to go to drinking binges to show off who can tip the most is silly.

Don't get discouraged by set-backs!

A huge trap is to direct one's self simply towards what appears to be the most 'expedient' option-- whether that's with school, work, or socially. The people who have combined material success with happiness I believe reached that point because they dedicated themselves to following what they love. And because they followed what they loved, they were able to peacefully endure the inevitable setbacks which happen along the journey.
Enjoy! \:D
