Hi Again, French Claire,

What you are calling "getting to the core of who I am and what I want", is really the whole point of doing the course for me. Yeah, I have some interest in creating some things for myself and others, but it's the "True Self" part that is my primary motivation. I can honestly say that were it not for the focus on "asking" that is built into the course (not just what do I want, but what does the Universe want to express through me?). Somewhere in the course Jack tells a story where he shares a quote from the bible about the "desires of the heart". One of things I am becoming increasingly aware of is that my heart has it's own intelligence that is often quite different from my thinking mind, and it is that intelligence that I am listening for. We're it not for the listening process built into this course, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.

What you said about "deflating" the ego (through symbols, going further in making your goals list, and using the Sedona Method) touched something in me that I'd like to say a bit more about. What I have been experimenting lately with is what I'll call "receiving the ego". I've made a habit in the past of demonizing my ego, and I've expended a considerable amount of effort attempting to systematically deconstruct it using various spiritual-based and/or personal growth-based techniques. I guess you might say I've had some "success" at this process of deconstruction, but lately I've had a hunch that I've been barking up the wrong tree. So I have found myself treating my ego less as an enemy and more as an acting out child that needs love. Anyway, what I'm noticing is to do that, I have to let my awareness be centered someplace else, and that someplace else feels like "True Self". And what I'm calling "my ego" seems to be acting out less and coming into more of an alignment with this heart intelligence. This is the place from which I want to bring about changes.

In saying this I don't mean to imply that I think there is anything "wrong" with the process of discovery you're having regarding your own ego and True Self. Bottom line, it sounds like its working just fine. I bring this as a means to share my own process regarding my history of making my ego a scapegoat for my challenges and using various techniques to get rid of something I had an adversarial relationship with.

I like what you have said about writing things down in this forum. I agree that sharing and articulating what is really true in a safe public forum can be a big part of what wakes us up to who we truly are, which in turn brings about the changes we truly want. This is how I intend to use this forum - to get to the heart of the matters of the heart and manifest success as a natural consequence of that depth of inquiry.

Enjoy yourself!

Going thru the course (Effortless Success, just beginning Level II) and haven't accessed the forum for it until now. What I've been missing!

Similar experience - for theatre/next step, I DID get a symbol which represented one of my interests (to explore since I am unsure of it), but when I did the life purpose/box/angel I got nothing.

For that meditation had a very hard time relaxing, focusing. I have a job which requires a lot of mental work and multitasking and have trouble turning that off. I finally found some objects appearing that represented interests/goals of mine (a small plant, feather/quill, a paintbursh, a few scattered gold coins) but I felt I was "making" them appear. Dialogue with angel was very effective:
Am I making things up to fill the box
A - YES!
What is in the box then?
A - Nothing.
What does that mean?
A - Meditate. Meditation is nothing. Nothingness.
A continued - Your life purpose will come to you but now you are too "destabilized".
Is there anything I can do now AND meditate?
A - Explore the interests you created, you WILL do them. For now, play. You will do several things you love, but now - you need to prepare, learn, play. Meditate.

This had much meaning for me as I have not engaged in my interests in many years, had been taught they were "hobbies" and not serious career choices as a child. Instead of becoming the artist/writer/healer that I wanted to be, I found a "respectable" analytical career.

I found French Claire's post about transitioning from the belief of there not being enough time to now having time open up for her to be a great point.

My job can easily become all encompassing, and since I've started this course the new "Critical" projects have been cropping up at an alarming rate.

Since my biggest concerns revolve around time (if I dont have time to "do it right" I cant seem to start at all) I'm obviously finding a way to not take any leaps of faith. I'm meditating a little more but have avoided the "play and explore" part for the past couple of weeks.

So I have a new affirmation to add!
Thank you all for your sharing and insights.

Hi Col,

I love reading about your dialogue with the angel. It just reaffirms for me how much we truly know about ourselves and what we need most when we are willing to ask, be still and listen for what comes back, and then repeat the same process as necessary. All of my best teachers encouraged asking any question, anytime. The message I think they were trying to convey was, "When in doubt, ask." I also love the quality of answers that came for you. All to often, in the past, my idea of what kind of answer I was looking for either corrupted or got in the way of my getting a real answer, one that actually could cut through my agenda for myself and reveal what was really being called for. It seems to me that often so much of what we think we know (about ourselves, about others, about life itself) is utter crap. How refreshing to have answers come that don't play into all those assumptions we make, and how neat that you were able to make room in yourself for those answers to come through!

Nice going!
