A huge trap is to direct one's self simply towards what appears to be the most 'expedient' option-- whether that's with school, work, or socially. The people who have combined material success with happiness I believe reached that point because they dedicated themselves to following what they love. And because they followed what they loved, they were able to peacefully endure the inevitable setbacks which happen along the journey.
