Hello Inchiki,
Thank you for your generous and uplifting comments. Encouragement and compliments are more effective than hammer blows, and they make me feel good too. So thanks again.

If you want to understand my motivation and passion for positive change, go to my thread about turkeys and eagles (on the Abundance for Life forum). My whole family feels we have been artificially held back, and now we are free. Free for me means to make up for lost time (I'm 49) and really go for it now. So I am genuinely taking my life in my own hands, taking responsibility for what is and what isn't. That post was difficult to write, not emotionally, but intellectually as none of us could actually understand why we failed to integrate in the place we had chosen so carefully to live. My husband cried when he read it. My daughter was wowed.

I am starting to understand that change involves altering how we perceive events, behaviours, outcomes, whatever. If we hold a vision/belief that doesn't serve us well (in my case, it caused me pain and confusion, feelings of rejection and hurt), and it continues to exert influence, then the way to move beyond it is to move out of that space and view it from a different perspective (thought this needs to be credible and own-able).

Perhaps one can view your breaking-the-booze-habit in the same way. You hold a belief that alcohol is overly-important / exerts power over you. Paul comes along with a new interpretation of the same phenomenon: "Inchiki, don't try to break the booze habit (as you can't), replace it with a new habit." Hey presto! And you are willing to do just that. Now, I don't want to interpret your experiences for you, I'm not competent to do that. This is merely an attempt to illustrate what I find to be true for myself.

If you have an idle moment, I would greatly value your feedback on the turkey/eagle dualism. It took great energy to formulate it as this held power over me. I gained clarity and a new perspective on a space of darkness, unfilled needs and pain. My gut feeling is I put a lot of energy into the post, so a little energy back (via feedback) would help to close this cycle.

Regarding weightloss (just a tiny bit left to go), my True Self informs me (I hear it loud and clear now by reading your and Unique Soul's comments) that all I need to do is follow the ES (Effortless Success) Rule of Five (=take five actions a day) to attain my ideal body. The correct actions for me at this point in time are: 1) more walking; 2) play more tennis - my husband and I both love that; 3) praise myself; 4) talk to myself face to face in the mirror about how much I love / appreciate myself; 5) indulge more in fresh salads and skip all desserts.

Now I have a house in Ireland to sell which would make us wealthy and financially independent. So I feel attracted to the Power Thinking PL as I fully intend to sell it myself. Even if I have to attend property fairs in Europe and the US. Any lovers of heritage architecture in Japan?

Take care, take action.
Adieu,
French Claire

Hi Claire,

You postings are always great and inspirational.

I think you must be highly commended for having taken the radical change of moving country yet again. This time from your native Ireland. You did not explain whether you had moved back to the same place in Ireland you were born and grew up. It is a lot harder to make new friend in a new place, mostly in a rural area where people tend to be very conservative. They may be friendly and polite, but at the decision making stage (ie who will get the coveted job which is rare to come by... you or some old cronie?) old allegiances will prevail. Your generosity and willingness to reach out for the community encountered the turkey mentality. You were perceived as a threat, so they gave you a clear message that they did not want you around.

Of course, all the social interplay is very much a game of two sides. It may be that at the end you felt alienated and that caused a lot more friction within the community for you. I can understand how hurt you felt in your native country. Probably that spilled over to the new country initially, so some turkeys gave you a hard time. However, this time you had changed a lot from before, so you attracted the eagles to rescue you.

I am sure that the sale of your heritage mansion will represent the step towards your goal of wealth with the 1/2 million euros yearly income. As you change yourself, you will attract what you need. I believe handling the sale yourself is very important, even if logistically probably a bit hard. Having to show your mansion around to a potential buyer will require you to return to Ireland. However, as your life is more and more aligned, the right opportunity will manifest itself and everything will run smoothly. Maybe you need to insert the sale of the mansion in your five daily goals so you can attract the buyer. You can do lots of advertising on the internet to help the goal to materialise.

gkayakn - congrats with your success with PL's! I've had the same problems before listening to PL's, but with my first PL experience - oddly enough, it was the "10-minute supercharger" - I felt and saw a multi-layered (the 70's kind) heart growing bigger and bigger from the middle of my chest, filling me from inside out with warmest feeling of love - and then a deep feeling of relaxation that felt as if everything's okay...and that there's nothing to worry about.

It was an odd but really touching experience, esp. considering the session wasn't directed at resolving any emotional issues. I think what the PL did was to activate my mind to use my inner resources to provide for me what was needed the most at that moment, and fulfilled it. I was feeling resentful towards my parents for no good reason of late, and that one PL session blew all that annoying negativity away. Now I am enjoying quality time with my parents, just like I did when I was young.

I really appreciate what PL did for me - it's truly priceless. :>

Addendum: I used the "Break the habit" PL too and saw changes the NEXT DAY. I earnestly hoped to change my laziness into a diligent one, and now I'm a new person! I hate wasting time now, and am aggressively taking charge of my life, making sure I'm living consciously and to the fullest every day.
