The fresheners will not get rid of the mold that grows in there. I have just a window and no vents. I have a mold problem. You can try leaving the door cracked open enough to let out the humidity but closed enough to make the room disappear.
Perhaps an option would be to leave the door open but close all the drains and keep the toilet seat down?
