Hi Alex and others,

I PR a book on Software Project management (among others) daily last 3 days. Yesterday after PR, I just went through the book noting the chapter headings, titles etc. catching trigger words. I selected this one for activation since this is a basic intro level book.

Today I PR it again and then postviewed it. And wow ! The material looks "known" to me. I guess PRing the book has given me a good overall feel(big picture) of the book. Now when I read a few lines, I read faster and understand it better. I get a feeling that "I know this stuff !!!". Thats PhotoReading at work I guess \:\) \:\)

Even if I now just read the book in a linear fashion, I would finish it faster and understand it better than if I had just read it linearly without PRing it first. (Of Course I wouldnt do this... just an observation).

Now this is my problem : Since the book is highly technical in nature, I am treating each chapter as a book itself. And I have this strong urge to read all the words in the chapter. Since every paragraph introduced a new term or principle related to S/W management. I don't understand how I will have conscious awareness of a particular priciple if I have not "read" it. When I read it, I understand it faster but if I dont read it, I feel I wont know that it even exists in my Sub-Conscious mind.

Will the info I don't actually "read" just come automatically to conscious awareness when I need it say in an interview or during my work?

What do you suggest I do ? Should I resist this temptation?

Thx,
thePhotoReader.

Make sure you are reading with questions in mind. Without a question the desire to read every word with passive reading takes over.

You can only know that you know when you have answered questions. So the best way is to start asking appropriate questions. Appropriate is determined by your purpose.

Remember it's perfectly okay to superread and dip a page more than once for each question.
