Stevers, good post! I read one of Noah's books some time ago, and I really think his "afformations" DO work better than the regular type. I've never had much luck with regular affirmations, but have had some success with afformations. For me, it's almost as though, by asking the question in the positive as he suggests, my mind believes the desired outcome is already present, and then the LOA kicks in.
I'm one of those "lucky" people anyway, but sometimes it's fun to attract more of it, so after reading his book, I went around saying things like "I don't know why I'm so lucky, I just am" and so forth, and entered a little local drawing--where I won the grand prize of a $300 gift certificate at a local store.
Good stuff, those afformations!
That said, I don't do it as regularly as you do. I "afform" in the spirit of fun--any time it becomes work, my OTC just turns off and pays no attention. I also suspect that if it's become forced and overly repetitious, at least for me, I'm attracting tedious, forced, and routine things. Feelings count as much as words. Maybe more.
I seem to have better results from ANY technique, in fact, if I'm coming from a place of joy, happiness and love. I think this is what Marci Shimoff's Happiness for No Reason (course and book) is about, and earlier, the book "Feel it Real" by Denise Coates was talking about. Before those, many "New Thought" writers from the early 20th century touched on this idea.
