I had what I guess you could call a "break through" in my Spring Forest Qigong practice. I have heard of saliva tasting sweet after a lot of practice, but I've never experienced that, and I've never heard of what happened to me till today.

What happened to me: I was doing the sun meditation, and about 45 minutes into it, I began to smell the fragrance of a flower, maybe lavender (I'm not too knowledgeable about flowers but I want to say it was lavender). But I have nothing like that in my apartment. I've been thinking about it all day and concluded there's nothing in my apartment that could have caused the scent. After the meditation, I no longer smelled it. It was so strong at times it seemed like a flower was right under my nose! The only correlation this scent had to anything was the fact that it started right after the focus of my attention turned to helping a sick family member heal. Anybody have any wisdom to share about this? I searched around online and found there is a form of qigong called "Fragrant Qigong" where this effect is known to happen. Interesting!

Hi Jeremy,
When you engage with healing work, serving humanity or Mother Earth, purposeful spiritual work, there are often blessings that come to you in return. It is not uncommon for people to experience this in their SFQ practice, or at SFQ events/conferences/retreats group healings..
When you are in your meditation, you are quite engaged/focused on energywork. Your sense of qi is heightened. It is a good time to help someone, after you yourself have done some energy work, and are in a more focused quiet state. A nice contrast to working directly with someone actually there, where your ability to focus may initially be distracted by that actual proximity to someone. Sometimes I will finish a focused meditation, and then I might do some healing work. This doesn't mean that you can't invite someone into your meditation and help them that way too.
It is very good to smell flowers or fragrance/incense. Wonderful manifestation to have happen and blessing or affirmation to experience. You can say thank you from your heart upon that experience. You don't have to know the specfic source, other than it being spirit/spiritual energy, blessing you in the energy of the healing work that you did. The fragrance itself, is an energy you can thank too.
Don't anticipate this, or expect this. Just focus on the work itself, or focus on the exercise or meditation.
I was doing 10,000 hands last week, and within that, doing some work with Mother Earth. When I opened my eyes, there was a beautiful blue, tiny bluejay feather laying in front of me, that wasn't there when I started. My eyes, opened to 'it'. I felt the energy of that blessing upon seeing the feather. It is a wonderful gift/energy blessing felt in the heart. I heard these bluejays come while I was exercising and add their sound/song energy to the work being done. It all made sense. There is a sense of wonderful in that, and a sense of great humility. Great inspiration for you to continue doing what you are doing. .
love,

Aloha Jeremy,

Clairgustience - smelling something not there had been there.

Gallen, slow down your 10,000 hands. It can be hazardous to low-flying birds! ;\)

Or people have been known to take off in flight with 10,000 hands and then be hazardous to the higher flying birds!

Or like in the cartoons, where a character is flying in their sleep and then they wake up and don't know how to get down, or how they got up there in the first place . \:D

blessings,

Steve
