Hi,

I've been thinking about varying things that I've heard/read in the SFQ materials about the causes of energy blockages, and wonder if anyone might be able to help me reconcile some issues.

Know that SFQ says there are six key causes for energy blockages (emotions, nutrition, toxins, injuries, weather and wrong medication.) And, also know SFQ says that most all blockages start as spiritual issues (Yin) and then if not cleared, turn into physical (Yang) symptoms. And, also, know that SFQ have provided some examples where young children have energy imbalances that can come from when they were conceived, prior lives, etc.

So, here are my questions:

1) What is meant by everything really starts as a spiritual issue? Are all those six items above spiritual issues? Or, are we saying that everything that happens in our bodies is happening for a reason, a spiritual reason; i.e. for two people exposed to the same thing, one who might need to learn a lesson related to e.g. getting a virus would get the virus, whereas the other one not needing that lesson wouldn't be impacted by the virus? So, are we saying then, that first every physical manifestation that we get happens for a spiritual reason to teach us something and then secondary to that, the six key triggers are...?

2)Isn't there really a seventh cause? Not sure exactly what it would be called, but possibly "karma" or something like that, implying some lessons or issues that we may carry into this life that we have an opportunity to deal with if we so choose?

Thanks in advance for your insights!

Much love,

Hi-
I will do the best I can with this! I will most like ramble a bit. The definitions of spirit and soul, as well as the context they are in, tend to shift around a bit.

1)We make our own lifestyle choices, and we experience our lives. What to eat, where to live, how to live. We walk on our paths, and things come to us, things happen, choices come up, change happens. When we make choices, we have a general sense of good and not good. We might 'know' the right choice, but choose otherwise. Someone might say something or do something, or a situation might arise, that brings up a negative emotional response. We may choose to transform that response or let it go, or hold on to it. We may even be unaware of making the choice or having the reaction.
This all directly pretains to spirit. How we feel about things, how we respond to change or what comes up on our path, what choices we make, how we see things. 'Who we are, and what level of self is making the decision.' Inner decision coming from multiple aspects of self or spirit.

Also, we do something called 'mind projection'. We see a situation , or we hear something, and we fill in all the dots. Somebody does something, and we assume what the intention was behind it. Our mind projections are almost always inaccurate.

As far as the statement that most illness's stem from spiritual issues? It pretains to these inner choices we make, aware or unaware, the reactions we have to things, the mind projections we have.

I don't see every blockage that manifests, having some grander spiritual purpose. There is opportunity, always, to work with energy tranformationally. A blockage, can be a teacher, and that can be a very a positive way, transformational way, to work with a blockage. One doesn't go forward finding teachers by having blockages though! There is a point of liberation, where one has more clarity going forward. There is a possible flu pandemic in the works. Washing your hands is more relevant than anticipating a possible new teacher coming on board!! Regardless of ones spiritual level, washing your hands, life style choices relative to universal energy, the laws of the universe, building up your immune system, are farther up on the list in regards to who will get the flu, rather than everyone who needs to have a spiritual lesson getting the flu.

My favorite definition of karma, is " we are, where we've come to". Prior to SFQ, I was more familiar with spiritual practioners seeking past life experiences to set things straight.
From Master Lin, I learned that if you stay in the present, and do your practice, the past comes forward and out. The unpeeling of the onion so to speak, accomplished by being in the present, not by seeking the past. I would also add that one of the pillars of SFQ is forgiveness. Just as spirit and emotion are closely related, forgiveness and karma are too. These things will better define themselves and clarify, as you go forward in your practice. Each thought can have a karmic charge to it, each action taken. A lifestyle practice of qigong tranformationally works with karma, in the sense of held past experience. One still has responsibility in going forward, in regards to karma.
Spirit comes up again with that. How you respond, react or perceive your experience. Whether or not you are judgemental or loving and forgiving. Bottom line, you can not have a clue about karma and spirit, and just generally strive be a good person, helpful to others, and practice your qigong, and you will be okay. Even if you didn't, you would still be okay. We live in a loving universe, not a judgemental one. Service to others, humanity and Mother Earth, the universe/all living things, is huge. Compassion is a proactive way to generate good karma. You can focus on creating good karma, and it is a better focus than focusing on having past karma. Just in the simple act of relaxing and opening up, you set a momentum and direction to your energy. Deeper relaxation, deeper opening, more release.
A simple physical gesture of letting go, a release, initiating a transformational/healing directional flow to the energywork, having great potential to continual and deeper clearing of energy you don't need, whether that was from a past life, or yesterday's reaction to something, this mornings sour milk, or how you see something coming on the horizon.
I can't make a absolute list and put numbers to it. There is sort of one there, and it is meant perhaps more so, a helpful guide in understanding things. I also see it as a work in progress. Maybe the elements will stay the same, but the language will improve, or become more universal.

Hi, Gallen,

Thanks a million for your deep and comprehensive response. Sorry for taking so long in thanking you, I wanted to get some quiet time to read your response more carefully, there was a lot in it. Very useful.

Loving blessings,

Hi,

I think you would really enjoy reading "Feelings Buried Alive Never Die." The whole book is a discussion about how emotions affect our bodies to create certain symptoms. It also lists the physical problems and emotions related to them. It always amazes me how accurate they are.

The book also has a method to help you release them, but I think that this can also be achieved through Qigong and meditation.

Check it out on Amazon.com. It's not very expensive if you get a used copy. I've considered it my "Emotional Bible" for many years and it helps me often find the triggers behind a physical problem that will crop up and I realize that I'd let a certain emotion or problem get in the way and hadn't resolved it.

Hope this helps some!

God Bless,

-Jessica
