Sometimes, and this is just my opinion mind you (yours may vary), I think what what strikes us is not exactly "shortcomings" so much as it is a case of "overwhelm."
For instance: Two years ago, I came down with a scarey condition and was given Donna Eden's book, Energy Medicine. I tried to read it through and through, and frankly, got lost somewhere on chapter two.
Then someone said, do the basics, and look up things you need for your condition--then do those. To this day, I haven't finished the book in cover-to-cover fashion, but the "basics" plus the extras have brought me pretty far, along with QiGong (thank you for Spring Forest!) and other things.
I have since looked all these courses in a similar way. Take what I know or sense I need, and do what I can--keep the rest around, because who knows, I may reach a point where that, too, can be of help.
It might be a mistake to think any ONE of these is "THE one"--in fact, I know that for me, that is not the case. Rather, a mixture of several that work well together seems to be the best way for me.
And patience, my friend, really IS the key, just like all the folks tell us. After two years, I've made tremendous strides without taking treatment--I hope to one day be totally free of the condition, but it seems to be taking some time. Moreover, it's not always easy to see the progress! You need a good set of 20-20 hindsight glasses to remember where you were and compare it with where you are now. Little steps are fine, as long as they are in the right direction.
Rather than think you're a "loser"--I suspect you just look at things from a different perspective, and that you need to approach things a little differently than others?
Best of luck to you!
