Yes, ok you can do this, I can do this, others can do this. Yet at this time in the evolution of consciousness here on this planet MOST will not do it and when they do a little of it, they will likely fall into marginalizing the experience until it happens not again so seeming.
None do it 100% of the time, way too many distractions and emotional complications.
When in 11th grade of High school I took my first course in speed reading and it did trigger some sharp behavior changes in my studies. It seemed to accelerate the now and then to more and more.
That was, ok gosh 37 years ago. Using flash cards and such seemed to me to be the key. Also I was introduced to the great quandary of breaking the 'sub-vocalization' spell. I also was already skilled somewhat in mysticism, more than most my age in that culture.
Here is my 'classic story' from that time period where I excelled so much from near out of nowhere scholastically.
In one class as I entered, the teacher called me out by name. Right out as I walked in and announced to the whole class that he had decided I was most certainly 'cheating' on quizzes and tests, I guess he was going to make an example out of me right there and then. He had earlier posted a lone desk facing the far corner and smartly handed me a test and told me I could take that test there where he would be sure I could not cheat looking at anyone else's work!
Now I had plenty of 'emotional shame based challenges from my less than stellar home life' so this was not helpful. I marched dutifully over to the desk and sat down looking at the corner and quietly breathed 'damn you'. I went into what I termed to myself as an state where my sub-vocalization was preoccupied with 'cursing the teacher' and I raced through that test in as fast I could answer each question, some needed writing out answers longhand others not. I was first one finished, stood up, spun around and quickly crossed the short distance and placed it on his desk.
This grand and glorious teacher who probably flunked psychology no doubt, said 'what a minute, I am correcting your test right here right now'. 'Great', I silently affirmed and dutifully stood there a spectacle to the whole class. Shortly he looked up at me somewhat confused and said these words which I will simply never forget!
'I do not understand this, you passed this test 100%? And each day you come into my class sit in the last chair and do your homework as I stroll the class picking up assignments, (this was his habit) you never do any work outside of class and during class you sleep near every single day within minutes of my first words. And during every movie you sleep as well. How do you do it?
My answer; 'I do not know really, but I do know I seem to remember everything I see or hear even if I am sleeping'. I was always very lucid dreamer all the night through or during naps for that matter.
He said, well it must be so, please put your desk back to where it was. I did not sleep however the rest of that class that day as I was still wired from being challenged.
How does this happen with some and not others? There are reasons and I have spent a lot time studying up on the subject from many an angle.
Bottom-line, if you want it bad enough, you will adapt.
