Hello Everyone. I am new to ES and to forums. I have never actually participated in one before, so this is a new experience for me.

I am wondering if I am the only one who does not actually "see" anything when I try to visualize - I have never been able to. I try to do the meditations, starting with the Inner Wisdom Meditation. I can sense being in another place - kind of the feeling and some sounds of being in a theater, but all I see is complete black. I don't know how to determine my image or object, and try to interact with and draw meaning from it, when I don't actually see anything. Does anyone else experience something similar? How do you work through it? I'm trying very hard not to get down that I can't do the very first exercise, but it is a little discouraging.

Thank you and I look forward to taking this journey with everyone!

You are not the only one. visualization comes with deep relaxation and patience. Everyone has a different "visualization" experience, or none at all...get in touch with the feelings you experience during meditation. Just allow the flow ... nothing is wrong.

Patience is not usually one of my strong points, but I'll work on it. I guess I'm just worried I won't get everything I'm supposed to out of this course. Thanks for the support!

Seeing in the minds eye tends to atrophy as we get older. Spoken language starts taking over. One good way to get the muscle back is Image Streaming. Actually we are all very good at visualising. If we weren't we wouldn't find our way through the day.

Try this,

Think of a red rose.

Did you see an image of your big toe or did you remember what a red rose looked like.

Ah you thought of your big toe just now. Was it covered by a shoe.

Or try this,

Were do you sleep at night? Is the room carpeted?

To answer those questions you had to visualise. So the skill is there perhaps not as clear as you would like.

If you cannot see clearly with the minds eye, listen to the voice that is describing the scene and the feelings and the thought you have about those feelings.

It feels like you're making it up so sometimes it seems like the word comes before the image. Go with it and see where it takes you.

Thank you, Alex. I'll try practicing with that. I do remember vividly day dreaming when I was a child, but 30-some years later I seem to have forgotten how.

I should mention Image Streaming is a good way to improve visualisation skills. You can learn it using the Genius Code Course. I believe this is the best way to learn it. You're guided by someone while Image Streaming.
