If you want to succeed with PhotoReading quit just listening to the course and start doing the course. There is no benefit in just listening first. In fact it closes the beginner mind and what you think you know starts interfering with the learning process. Just do it.
And yes, grab the books in the course and do the exercises. Then grab a few of the books and do some more work with physical books. I know with open learning there is a lot of on Screen reading and with PhotoReading you can get a great improvement for on-screen reading comprehension and on screen reading-speed.
Like I said before, learning to PhotoRead using e-books and on screen text is like learning to run with your legs tied together. It's much easier and faster when you learn with paper text.
