Yes reading is 25% slower on computer screens. It's 15% slower on Kindle and similar e-readers.
For the PhotoReading step itself the computer is much faster due to hands free page flipping. However activation is slower because you can't just open the book to the needed page you have to find it. And on some e-books you don't have the advantage of linked TOC and no index. I find that a disappointment because it's a good way of assessing whether a book is of interest to me. The first pages are often redundant. I go back to Amazon and look at the scanned printed book there for the Index.
