I always thought I was losing count on the Seven Steps of New Life and continued the best I could. Finally today, I jotted down each step of the seven and voila, I wasn't. You *can* start the exercise raising your left foot (as Master Lin says), but the *next* time you're back at the first step (navel) you'll be raising your right foot and leg. So... I guess what he means is that you begin with raising the left, but continue the way it turns out, only every other time will your left foot/leg match with the navel.

Correct. You can think of it in terms of a walking meditation...you start with the left and continue walking until you get to where you are going. Actually, back in the day, he taught this one walking in circles, and I still do it that way today, out of preference

Thank you. wink

I'm going to incorporate this into my Bagua circle-walking.
This should provide some interesting results.
