The problems people have with the PhotoReading system is never really with the PhotoReading step.
Soft focus - looking at the page like when you are day dreaming like looking through the book as if it is a window. That's all it takes to photofocus. Doing that you might notice the blip page, you notice the words are blurred, that is only because your BRAIN is focusing further away. Your peripheral awareness still sees the words focused.
So for PhotoReading put the book your normal reading distance away. The text is in focus when your mind is concentrating on it? Then that's the right distance. Go into photofocus keeping the book in the same place, soft focus, relaxed eyes. It may even feel like you are daydreaming. Without changing focus you're still looking off into the distance, can you notice the four corners of the book? Can you notice the pattern of white on the page? Yes? Start flipping the pages while looking through the book, keep a rhythm, say the chant and when done do the next step of the system.
Don't get stuck on the PhotoReading step.
