Thanks Shawn. I completely understand what you're getting at. I guess we all have a tendency to get trapped in identifying with our blockages/illness/imbalances in whatever forms they take. that's something i have been prone to doing. Another aspect of it is that i am simply fascinated with TCM/qigong/energy in general, and i like to ensure that i'm doing things in the most correct and effective way to enhance my healing. It's this drive that led me to do qigong in the first place, and then led me to look outside of the local qigong class i was attending and eventually find Spring Forest (as i felt that the qigong i was doing previously was doing little to heal my injury).
As i do not have the opportunity to speak to Master Lin or Master Nance at length about these things, i guess i was posting to try and dig a little deeper into what i could do for my own healing. reading back on it it's clear i was in a bit of a more negative place at the time, and was worried. the rapid hair loss/dryness of my hair is what had me really concerned me about my kidneys. my TCM doctor now seems to think it is more due to the intense liver qi stagnation/blood stasis from the injury, which is a bit of a relief.
i've began doing the sword fingers healing on my injury and related areas and have been blown away by the results. i can feel things moving a lot more now. i have been doing each part of the sword fingers healing for considerably longer than is demonstrated on the dvd, just to really get deep into the process and feel the energy. i'm guessing this is ok? it feels right. i've kept the palm/healing energy at the end to just 9 times, as i thought it might be unwise to put too much energy back into the area. or could i do that section for an extended period as well? i'm aware that many of my questions/ideas about qigong are basically just "stabs in the dark" as i'm a beginner, but any guidance along the way is really appreciated, as i'm just trying to feel my way through it as i learn.
thanks again
Anton
