I've had an "A-ha" moment! I see what you are saying, Alex, but actually, in retrospect (and honestly, I think I knew this from the beginning, but didn't realize it at the time) I believe the images were a warning to me. The two dog-like creatures came up together, so I guess that's why I thought they were fighting, but now in looking back at that particular image, I realize they weren't fighting, but were together, in unison, snarling at ME! So, yes i believe I was in danger within the dream, or the vision... whatever it was, which is why I felt the need to dis-spell it immediately.
"Dark and ugly" are the only way I could find to express what I saw. Yes, it brought up fear within me. They were ferocious and snarling, they appeared slimy, dark and ugly, which all together were a fearful sight to me. They were in stark contrast to the rest of the dream or vision...whatever it was. I see evil as dark and ugly, in contrast to light and beauty being good - in a spiritual sense. Evil is death, light is life. I don't buy the idea that there is no death but just a change from one form of life to another. Death = no life, non-existence.
