Patrick,
If you can reason that:
1) your subconscious mind picks up on millions more bits of information than your conscious mind all the time.
2) you can recall anything that you have previously experienced, take for instance, regression under hypnosis.
3) the reason you were able to identify that behavior in your role model is because on some level you have knowledge of that behavior from previous experiences.
then you can tell yourself that you actually do know how your role model does it, but not all consciously.
If you can identify a behavior in another person then it is likely that your subconscious mind has enough information for you to model that behaviour.
It has been said many times (eg. Debbie Ford - The Dark Side of the Light Chasers) that we can see in others what is true for ourselves, maybe only if partly. The reality that is out there, ie that which we see in other people, is actually largely based on our own maps of the world. We are seeing a reflection of ourselves.
Listening to Instantaneous Personal Magnetism or New Behaviour Generator is just moving, collecting and piecing together parts of ourselves so that they become an integrated new behavior.
A quote from Wayne Dyer: "You'll see it when you believe it!"
When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. You won't be able to see the behaviour in your role model if you weren't somehow ready to see it, ie. if you already didn't know a lot about that behavior.
