Over and over again, in the "Secret", and in other books I've read and hinted at in the ES series is one statement I hear that really preplexes me. "They" keep saying, "Don't say to your kids "We can't afford that" ". I know we're supposed to be thinking positive, so more positive will come, but really...what are we supposed to say to them, when they do ask for something we really can't afford at that time??

When the time is right it will show up.

If you really want, it find a way.

It's my job to provide for your needs.

Just because you want something doesn't mean I have to buy it for you. You could save for it.

There are other ways to manifest what you want than expecting me to give it to you.

What would having that mean to you? Why do you want it. (The response because "all my friends have one" . It comes from the feeling of fitting in, feeling like they are left on the outside. It helps you you can get them to tap the feeling of fitting in, having friends around them and fitting, look at other areas where they do fit and help them to tap that feeling. Short tempered response adults often give, and if your friends jump off a cliff you would too? (yep because most of the adults are still doing that.)

There are ways of saying I'm not buying it for you without saying because I don't have the money. It's not appropriate for kids to see the parents to be the sole supplier in their universe. They need to learn to tap the universe for manifestation themselves.

Thanks Alex. Although I do want to point out that I don't buy them things "just because", but there are things they do see, or even I see, that I'd like to give them, but can't, due to finances. I like the "when the time is right, it'll show up" especially. They do save money on their own often when they want something, but, of course, not the big things. I recently purchased the movie "The Secret", and I think, together, having both audio input from the ES series, and the visual of the movie, I'm slowly changing my energy, even about money. Thanks again for the suggestions!
